PetroChina
holds and operates an oil and gas product pipeline network and storage
system covering 26 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions
across China. As the largest storage and transportation service provider
of oil and gas pipeline in China, the Company is responsible for
transmission and marketing of natural gas as well as transportation and
storage of crude oil and oil products. The
trunk of southwest gas pipeline network is from south to north and
connects with Hunan and Hubei by Zhong-Wu pipeline. The trunk system
mainly includes south-north ring trunk, feed gas trunk in the east of
SichuanBasin, purified gas trunk and gas trunks in other areas, which is
responsible for transmitting more than 80% of feed gas and gas
commodities from SichuanBasin, with total length of 5,923km. Shaan-Jing
gas pipeline is from Jingbian, Shaanxi to Yamenkou, Beijing, with total
length of 910km and annual capacity of 3.3 billion cubic meters. It has
supplied natural gas to Beijing since 1997, covering Shanxi, Hebei and
Tianjin along the line, and supplying to Cangzhou Fertilizer Plant and
Shandong Zibo area through Gang-Cang and Cang-Zi lines respectively. The
second Shaan-Jing gas pipeline is from Jingbian, Shaanxi to Beijing,
with total length of 935km and annual capacity of 12 billion cubic
meters, which is connected with the underground gas storage of Dagang
Oilfield by Gang-Jing line and Gang-Qing line. In
order to guarantee safe and stable operation of West-East gas pipeline,
the Company established the supporting facilities such as Ji-Ning,
Huai-Wu and Lan-Yin connection lines, as well as underground gas
storages in Jintan and Liuzhuang. Ji-Ning
cross line is from Anping substation of the second Shaan-Jing gas
pipeline to Qingshan substation of West-East gas pipeline, which is
886km long in trunk and was put into operation in January 2006.Huai-Wu
connection line, stretching from Huaiyang substation of West-East gas
pipeline to Wuhan substation of Zhong-Wu gas pipeline, is 443km long and
was put into operation in December 2006. Lan-Yin gas pipeline starts
from Se-Ning-Lan pipeline, passes by West-East gas pipeline and ends in
Yinchuan, Ningxia and is 457km long in the trunk and was put into
operation in July 2007.At present, the Company is expanding the
West-East gas pipeline by reconstructing 10 existing booster stations
and building 12 new booster stations, which will increase the annual
capacity up to 17 billion cubic meters. Zhong-Wu
gas pipeline connects the southwest oil and gas field with Hunan and
Hubei area. The trunk of the line is from the purification plant in
ZhongCounty, Chongqing to Wuhan, Hubei, with a total length of 719 km
and a designed annual capacity of 3.0 billion cubic meters. Se-Ning-Lan
Pipeline starts from Sebei Gasfield, Qinghai, passes through XiningCity
and ends in Lanzhou, Gansu. Trunk of this line is 931km long with a
designed annual capacity of 3.4 billion cubic meters and was put into
operation in September 2001. II. Crude oil pipelines There are mainly Northeast crude oil pipeline and West crude oil pipeline. (1) Northeast crude oil pipeline Northeast
crude oil pipeline is responsible for transporting crude oil from
Daqing and Jilin oilfields, and was originally built in 1970. It is
2,400km long with a designed annual capacity of 40 million tons. (2) West crude oil pipeline Northwest
oil pipeline mainly includes Lun-Ku-Shan, Ma-Hui-Ning, Zhong-Yin and
A-Du pipelines.Lun-Ku-Shan pipeline starts from LunnanTown, Bazhou in
Xinjiang, passes by KorlaCity and ends in the oil export depot of
Shanshan; it is responsible for transporting crude oil from Tarim basin
of Xinjiang.Lun-Ku line was put into operation in 1992, with a total
length of 192km and a designed annual capacity of 3.00 million tons; the
second Lun-Ku line was put into operation in 1996, with a total length
of 161km and a designed annual capacity of 6.00 million tons. Ku-Shan
line was put into operation in 1997, with a total length of 476 km and a
designed annual capacity of 5.00 million tons. Ma-Hui-Ning
pipeline is responsible to export crude from Changqing Oilfield. It
starts from QuziTown, HuanCounty in Gansu, passes through Huianbao,
Ningxia and ends in Shikong, ZhongningCounty in Ningxia, with a total
length of 270km and a designed annual capacity of 3.00 million tons.
Hui-Ning section has a designed annual capacity of 4.80 million tons. West
crude oil pipeline is responsible to export crude oil from Xinjiang.
The trunk of this line is from Shanshan to Lanzhou, with a total length
of 1,562km and a designed annual capacity of 20 million tons. It was put
into operation in June 2007. Main oil products pipelines for PetroChina are Lan-Cheng-Yu and Wu-Lan pipelines. Lan-Cheng-Yu
oil products pipeline was put into operation in December 2002. It
starts from Lanzhou, passes through Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan, and ends
in Chongqing, with a total length of 1,250km. The designed annual
capacity of Lanzhou-Chengdu section and Chengdu-Chongqing section is
